Monday Funday

Yesterday was Sunday. Today is Monday. Tomorrow will be Tuesday.
It is the 22nd of August 2016. The weather is fine and an little overcast.

Mr Morphew talked to us about HONESTY
Do not steal
Do not lie
Do not deceive one another

Is it possible to tell the truth and be honest? How?
We watched two students act out a role play pretending to break an iPad and then being dishonest about it.  This act was not true and honest.

We learnt from this that:
HONESTY is about more than facts
HONESTY is about facts and heart behind them
HONESTY is about helping the other person see things clearly
HONESTY is hard because it involves consequences and this is hard because we want to protect ourselves.

We started growing our crystals today.  The teachers put the magical water in a jar and our name went on the front.  We then put out sticks in attached with the crystal.  We will leave it in the jar for one whole week.  With our special powers we will grow crystals.  We have to eat magic food like salad and vegetables to make our crystals grow.  They re on the bench near our classroom door and we can have a good look every day with the magnifying glass.  We can't wait to see how fast they grow!

Mrs Abfalter read us "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr Seuss.  We pointed out where the title, author and illustrator was on the front cover.  As Mrs Abfalter read the book we picked out some of the rhyming words.  There were so many.  We are getting clever at hearing them.  We looked at words like "here, there, anywhere" and talked about what the words mean.
